Pinata Cupcake Tips
- When adding your dry ingredients, mix until everything is just combined. Over mixing will cause your cake to be dense.
- When checking to see if the cupcakes are done, you can also press gently on the top of the cupcake. If the cake springs back, it is done. If an imprint of your finger remains in the cake, bake for another 1-2 minutes, then test again.
- Filling a pastry bag can be difficult and messy. To make it easier, place the pastry bag in a tall glass and fold the pastry bag over the sides. Fill the bag while it is sitting in the glass.
- When using a pastry bag, hold the top of the bag with your dominant hand to prevent frosting from coming out the top of the bag. If needed, guide the bag with your other hand. If this is your first time using a pastry bag, practice piping on a plate or parchment paper.
